Advanced Drone Airspace Management (ADAM)
Gathering requirements and developing a digital model...
The ADAM (Advanced Drone Airspace Management) project began in March 2024 under the Airspace Modernisation Strategy.

ADAM aims to develop the Concept of Operations requirements, and business case for an analytical tool capable of identifying, classifying, and managing suitable volumes of airspace for BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) drone operations.

This phase of the project focused on developing a digital model to forecast air traffic density and assess airspace risk to help ensure safer drone operations.

...enhanced by developing Proof of Concepts...
...and prototypes. In 2D and 3D.
In addition, as part of the associated modelling, analysis has included: comparing performance of Machine Learning techniques (eg Multi-layer Perceptron, XGBoost) and their ability to accurately predict aircraft density, and flight route optimisation including obstacle avoidance.
